Blessed to be alive
At 33 I have spent my night counting my blessings, I find myself in the best creative path, I felt an strange calm last light when I looked into my life. Reflextion. I have come a long long way!!! I maybe at the lowest $$$ wise, but I am at my most productive &artistic DANCING, ACTING PAINTING!!! Discover of self, awareness of my sexuality and how I feel about my presence. 33 a great year!!! This month I have performed in Colombia where I reconnected with my family. I chose to be far away and now I understand they love me for who I am! And I love me for who I am! LIfe has given me the gift of transformation. I experience I grow I evolve! I am Blessed by my friends in NYC and my Beautiful family!
This week alone was full of sail boat rides to celebrate the birthday of another friend whom I consider a sister!!!! Blessings to you my sweet tough Deb, and think you for helping me find my voice in life, through out the years! Then modelling for amazing painters and artist to performing with the free art society!!!! What a magical thursday!!!!! THe Goddess LIVE LOVE LAUGH new art work! To my second home at The Olive Tree Cafe and Comedy Cellar where I was surrounded by creative people all night yesterday with a surprise appearance by Damon Wayne!!! I got to laugh so hard I had tears in my eyes! The best birthday!!! This morning I woke up and gave thanks to the world for all these blessings! Had a work out in the park, now to watch the game and tonight some Kareoke at 9:30pm 28 west 32 st 3floor!!! come join me!!!!
And tomorrow we celebrate PRIDE!!!!

Why Are You Single? Perhaps It’s The Choice Effect
As all my friends know by now I ended my engagement recently and had a very hard time coping with this choice. But I was not comparing or wanting something different I still love that person inmensly unfortunately I was not emotionally supported by this person as an artist and human. I felt that we did not communicate and that we needed to learn more before we moved into marriage. I was devasted by the fact that he did nothing to keep me.... I wanted to care for him and have children... this was not in our path at the time.
This article makes me understand certain actions that we have as humans in a world full of choices. I chose to further myself as an artist. I chose to grow as a human, to be grateful for all the good things I have acomplished and I CHOOSE TO BE WITH SOMEONE WHO IS POSSITIVE!!!! who supports me! and all that I am! Until then I choose to be SINGLE! because I am a special snowflake, and I give my EVERYTHING!!! To myself and the ones I LOVE!
I have been in Colombia for the past 2 weeks and I am in love again!!! I love my family, I want to be closer to them, I ask the Universe to allow me this fortune! I pray I can be here soon! There is a world of possibilties here for me as an artist, as a family member as a woman.

Estoy Feliz!!!! I have not been to Colombia in 4 years and I had forgotten my roots a bit. I come from a line of strong independent woman! Treated with respect and they give respect back. Self love is so important only after you love your self, you can be truely loved by others. Men who are GENTLEMAN, will treat you RIGHT! Love your self and NEVER settle for less. Envy direspect and hatred are emotions we have to not feed into. LIVE LOVE LAUGH... Tonight I am performing at Casa Matura a place dedicated to the Woman in all her stages of life.

CINEMAROSA 6th Anniversary Celebration - Your Participation
Queens' first and only independent film/video series celebrates its Sixth Anniversary with the screening presentation of a selection of films directed by local filmmakers. Among the feature presentations are Astoria, Queens, directed by Kyle Thomas Coker; Countertransference, directed by Madeleine Olnek; Doorman, directed by Etienne Kallos, and the premiere screening of Tell Tale, directed by gay Tibetan filmmaker living in New York, Tenzin Tsetan Choklay. The event also includes the performances of The Ruffian Arms, a gender-bender rock band based in Williamsburg, and Mano A Mano Tango Company, in one of its premiere presentations in NYC. Etienne Kallos, USA, 2006, 18 min. A deeply closeted Latino doorman of a NYC apartment building unravels emotionally when seduced by a privileged college kid living in the building. Tell Tale -Dir. Tenzin Tsetan Choklay, South Korea / USA, 2008, 15 min. Two movie tickets, three friends, and many possibilities for new romance and surprising revelations over coffee and cinematic fantasies. Performances: The Ruffian Arms -In the basement at the Sweatshop in Williamsburg, five artists gave birth to the Ruffian Arms, a force to be reckoned with. They combine hard rock melodies with humorous and clever lyrics and package it with an image fully equipped with gender bending costumes that feature high-heeled boots, cheerleader outfits and tiaras. They have been described as “messy joy” by The Imagist, and their music as a “potentially lethal stew of free-flowing improv, performance art references loosely choreographed dance steps and unleashing a sonic barrage that overflowed with plenty of punk noise and bravado.” New York Magazine has said that they are a “glam (sextet) led by an Amazonian redhead……participating in band wide cheers and pom-pom fights while their trashy, punky, rockabillyesque sound kept the room bouncing along.” Mano A Mano Tango Company - A modern dance company influenced by TRADITIONAL TANGO. A fusion of styles and inspiration. They tell their story through their feet and their hearts. Mano A Mano Tango Company was formed in March 2010, when Walter Perez & Liliana Velasquez were introduced to perform at the infamous BLACK PARTY. Their passion for Tango and personal expression created instant magic. Guest filmmakers Kyle Thomas, Madeleine Olnek, and Tenzin Tsetan Choklay will be in attendance to share their experiences with the audience. April Showers
April 29th!!! Today the sun is out! My hormones are at full force, I find everything beautiful, sad, alive, lost at once, The tulips are blooming. I saw some that looked like little hairy tulips... I was shocked to find that I hasd never seen a tuplip like that. The NYAA is almost done with the semester and the students are roaming the halls with constant energy... a wonderful desire to finish, to celebrate achievement. The choices I have been given are clear to me, yet I am taking a moment to breath to find a way to fit everything into the day. HEALTH/MIND/BODY/SPIRIT A work ethic. Don't miss a job, don't miss a day, It's commitment to the day. I wake up and that's the hardest moment. I was never like this so now I must not give into this. Keep moving girl! Get Up! Smile Thank the Universe for another day to make a difference! Today I took a long walk under the sunshine during my break. I love the SUN. Challenges of the life
I am in a struggle with motivation. Life has so many things to offer and yet I find myself longing for JG... when will this pass, how can I find internal peace with being alone? The past week was so difficult, the telephone scene in my acting class, the tension I am carrying in my body. After that scene all I wanted to do was call you run into your arms and feel safe. I knew this feeling would not be real, bc in the end I would feel lonelier then when I started. There are many things that are no longer real.. The sense of future.... ever shifting... the critique that one must have a thick skin to receive on a daily basis as an artist. My performances are developing and the more I work the farther I am getting to any other human being I love. The word Love feels foreign The word Lost has taken it's place. The tango is my silent expression of this pain. It has helped me to not throw myself into another distructive fake relationship, not that my last one was that bc I feel we had the best connection on all possibilities, if only we did not let our egos get in the way. I am afraid of being that lady who stays alone with 7 cats.... Silly fears but I see no one that can stop me in my tracks. I close my eyes and I no longer smell or feel you near. I feel ALONE, I have begun to feel strong again. I am begining to feel complete it's a slow process. Understanding that I profess love I provide love and I protect those I love. This is what I offer this is what I give. This is what I deserve in return.

Future...
Miami Bound!
Miami, visiting the family. My sister will be turning 30 and there will be a large party for her and her husband who is also turning 30. I haven't seen my parents since they came to NYC. A lot has changed since then. I hope to revive my spirit in the ocean! Come back full force to tackle work! JG you are in all the family pics!!! Life is funny... Talking to my mother, listening to stories of youth. I'm feeling better. Everyone has babies and puppies. The sun is shining today and we are going jet sking. I saw a woman rocking out at a club last night in high heels, a purple tight dress and a real need for a walker. She was enjoying life to the max! Life is beautiful.

Sacrifice & Commitment...
I am going through a discovery of self a voyage... alone and surrounded by good company, creative company, feeling responsible for myself my actions and reactions. I'll be 33 in June excited... The age of J C. And I have fallen into action. Spirituality and sexuality. A duality that as a catholic raised child I have fought against and still always been very aware of. I discovered a balance in my performance art, through a passion for the tango and theater a combination of my rebellious adventurous ways, my sexuality, and a passion for feeling alive. The moment comes when one faces there fears. I looked in the mirror and saw a person I was not proud of.... It took me 5 months after my first action to see my own faults... and stop blaming others... To enjoy my mind and body in a stronger way. To believe in myself! As all that I am with my past my present and my future! Accessing the Goddess within.

I'm excited to announce our new Dance Company, MANO A MANO. Founders Walter Perez and Liliana Velasquez, coming together to perform at the NYC Infamous Black Party, performing next week at The Tribeca BAll, & in May at Cielo fundraiser for the LAtino Commission on AIDS. Our company will be traveling to Colombia to teach workshops in June coming back to NYC in full force to perform and teach! Privates with one instructor or two, and group classes available.

Dreams
Waking up is hard to do.... My last image in dream land was one of JG kissing another woman. I woke up and had to do a meditation and chose to remind myself That I have the choice to be happy or unhappy today. So moving forward with the idea of being a better person. Mercy forgiveness comforting, GODDESS of Transformation. Pray for peace. Pray for my kitty I must find a vet today then off to rehearsal and class. I love being surrounded by creativity and healing. The Tribeca Ball is April 13th and Mano a Mano will be performing El Jaleo, inspired by the painting El Jaleo by John Singer Sargent. The second week in May we will be performing at Cipriani's for the Latin Commission on Aids. Then June off to Colombia to dance.
When I think of the sadness I now realize their must be a larger picture, do not fall into despair, believe in the Universe. The Universe supports me!
