KGB JAM 9/21/09 Review

It was a pleasure to celebrate the Autumn Equinox with all of our talented friends. This "acoustic" gathering somehow turned into a full blown rock show... performed by "Wild Yaks". The first song "Angle Eyes", had the Triangle of power (Mia, Liliana &Johnny D)
holding our hearts in our hands as the neighbors called to ponder what we were doing. I quickly jumped in and gave the boys a drink break, LOL. While we readjusted the sound levels. Zack, Rob, Dan & Martin sat in a semi circle embracing there boyhood forever. It was inspiring to
see how they adapted to the original ACOUSTIC plan. Martin's Drum set was taken away, to my heart ache. As Wild Yaks played "Crazy But Not Afraid" he showed us the spirit of a true drummer, performing his drum solo on the window gates, the wooden table tops, the chairs and his tambourine!!! For ever I will remember you as Animal from the Muppet's.
My heart goes out to you!
Being in such a small space "Wild Yaks" maintained the energy and delivery of
a large venue and brought us in closer to there core spirit.

We had a lot of great music at KGB Jam - 9/21/09, performed by "Wild Yaks"

Robert Bryn - (Bronco) Vocals & Guitar
Zack Davis- Guitar
Dan Scinta- Bass
Martin Cartagena- (Animal) Drums

Aztec Economy "9 Yodels"

Our first time bringing in an improv group... http://newyorkisdead.net/ with performers Michael Mason & Cole Wimpee, they did an original piece written by Casey Wimpee "9 Yodels". The Actors took there places slowly. Through a repetitive organic sound they began to fill the room like a sand storm. I watched a wave of awareness take over the audience. Cole was the earth and Michael was the sky... The struggle of survival, a man's most inner thoughts were felt.

I will be interviewing Casey, Cole & Michael next week, stay tuned.
JohnnyD, Mia & I were very proud to have introduced a new element to the KGB Jam

KGB JAM Sept 14th

The night was filled with excitement. Mia and I invited Tim Garrigan, Electric People, and Niketta Scott. The musicians brought a vibration to KGB that's all ways unexpected and new. We are very excited to hear the new songs off Tim Garrigan self produced album, GRAND STATION CENTRAL. Cd's are available check his myspace.

Electric People surprised us with a full drum kit!!!!!! There debut performance was over the top with songs such as "My Love My Love" and "Bitch on Dope". This Brooklyn based three piece band consists of Adam James (vocals guitar/ organs), Jesse Katz (drums), LD Catastrophe (bass/vocals), these young vibrant musicians turned KGB into a rock venue for 15 min!!! Amazing.
Check out their myspace

New onto the scene Niketta Scott, a diamond in the rough! You will be seeing more of her. After two martinis she was ready. Belting out tunes: "Infatuation" (self written), "Miss Celie's Blues" (from the Color Purple), "Your Sorry" (self written). The crowd responded with such passion for more that we would not let her leave without singing one more song. She sang Fallen (cover)

Thank you all for coming out to support our KGB JAM sessions!!!! This has been an amazing summer of creativity and unity. Our next event will be Monday Sept 21!!! We eager to introduce Aztec Economy and The Wild Yaks!!!!
