Saturday's L train ride, it was raining I took my time dressing for this weather I love the rain the soothing calm and introspect. We see the world through shades of grey. I walk to the station. The L train will depart in 3 min... As I run down into the station, closing my umbrella, sitting my imagination begins to feel the room and the voice in my head is interrupted by a beggar I try to look away I wonder what his deal only to find that as he gets closer to standing by me he is missing a leg. There is a metal replacement. I feel conflicted. Now I do want to give him $$$ but can't. The lady across from me feels the same, she searches her bag for some token. Rising from her chair she tries to reach and him give him what has fallen into her palm from her coin purse. When she turns around returning to her seat and see that the healthy forty-something year old man has immediately taken her seat. I watch him not turn his face, he is concentrating so hard not to make eye. He catches me laughing through my eyes. As this happens a short chunky man wearing gold velvet sweat pants pushing a red satin cart with tassels and a fedora takes his place in the center of the train. He pulls out a large bell that he hits with a stick to get our Attention he does not speak wears sunglasses and spends his time facing us then facing the other side of the train. Once we are all looking. He pulls out pots shows us that they are empty then another pot that goes inside when he separates them we see an Albino Pigeon my favorite!!! He continued with several tricks the color book that has nothing then outline then colored in. Until. He ended pulling a rabbit out off a box. I clapped and laughed as my ride came to an end. NYC I heart you!

Another lovely evening at The Olive Tree Cafe
